Mixed emotions for Filipinos who have been hoping to visit Taiwan sooner or later.
The expected visa-free entry for Filipinos in Taiwan has been postponed and rescheduled to September or at any appropriate date this year.
The cancellation was made to complete relevant administrative procedures and inter-agency coordination.
In the meantime, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) included Philippines on Taiwan’s e-visa program. Under this program, every Filipino who will visit Taiwan for a short period of time may apply for either Travel Authorization Certificate (TAC), payable e-visa or the payable proper visa stamped in the passport.
The said TAC allows multiple entries in Taiwan valid for 90 days with every stay up to 30 days. A single-entry visa is worth P2,400 while a multiple-entry visa is P4,800. For more information concerning about the issue, Taiwan advised Filipinos to check the TECO website online.
