Every year, Travel and Leisure, a popular website and international resource for travellers asks readers to weigh in “on travel experiences around the globe for their World’s Best Awards survey.”
The website declared Palawan as the “World’s Best Islands for Beaches and Natural Attractions” beating Maui, Hawaii which landed on top 6, Maldives on top 5, and even Bora-Bora, French Polynesia which was ranked 8.
Boracay was named number 10, Mount Desert Island, Maine got the 9th spot, Exuma, Bahamas was named number 7, Kauai, hawaii number 4, Seychelles number 3, Galápagos Islands, and Ecuador on the 2nd spot.
The ten stunning beaches were chosen based “on the planet according to the friendliness of the people, food, value, activities and sights, romance, and natural beauty.”
According to Travel and Leisure, readers hailed Palawan as a “magical place” and “the cleanest island in the Philippines,”. It is because of the locals who are “passionate about preserving the natural beauty of the island.”
